We're making Golden Sun: Revived because a story we love never quite got the ending it deserved — and because we still believe it has magic in it for a new generation.
We're a small team based in Latin America, working on this in the hours between jobs and life, because Weyard is a world that stayed with us. Our first real milestone is a pilot episode: one chapter, crafted with care, to show that this tribute can be done right.
To fund that pilot, we're turning to our community — and to Vaki.
What is Vaki?
Vaki is a crowdfunding platform born in Latin America — in Colombia, to be precise — built around something most of us here grew up with: the vaca, everyone chipping in together until the goal is reached. It's become one of the most trusted ways in the region to fund creative projects, cultural work, and community-driven dreams.
For us, it isn't just convenient. It's a platform that understands how people in this part of the world come together to support what they believe in.
Why not Kickstarter?
We looked at the big global platforms — Kickstarter and others. We'd be lying if we said we didn't wish we could use them. But the honest answer is simpler than we'd like: as a LATAM-based team, we can't. Payout rules, payment processing, and regional restrictions keep creators in our location locked out.
We didn't want geography to decide whether this story gets a chance. Vaki lets our community — here and abroad — support the pilot in a way that actually works for where we live and create.
What comes after the pilot?
If the pilot finds its people — if you believe in what we're making — we're planning a Patreon for the road ahead. Monthly support that helps us keep building the series episode by episode, sustainably, without asking for everything upfront at once.
The pilot is the beginning. Patreon is how we hope to keep going.
